Hill House Equestrian Christmas Show

Sunday 17th December

9.30am Clear Round £5 per round First class starts 10am

CONDITION OF ENTRY TO THIS SHOW IS EACH HORSE/RIDER COMBINATION

MUST ENTER INTO THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS TINSEL & CHRISTMAS JUMPERS ARE A MUST!!!!

Class 1. Christmas Cracker Welcome Stakes Fences 40cms Single Phase Resulys split Horses/Ponies/ Lead Rein/ In Hand 

Class 2. Christmas Pudding Stakes Fences 50cms Single Phase

Class 3. Reindeer & Hound

Class will be 6 jumps on horse back followed by 6 on foot with hound.

Fences not to exceed 55cm in 1st half of course

Fences not to exceed 40cm in 2nd half of course

Class 4. Christmas Tree Stakes Fences 60cm Single Phase.

Class 5 will not start before 12.30pm

Class 5. The Grinch ACCUMULATOR WITH JOKER Jumps start at 70 and go to a maximum of 75 and increase in difficulty. Points are awarded for each fence jumped (1 point for fence 1, 2 points for fence 2 etc) optional higher joker fence with double points – but if knocked down points will be deducted. Will be timed from first fence and in equality of points, time will decide placings.

Class 6. Christmas Fairy Stakes Fences 80cm Single Phase. Open to all. To include Dengie Debut Q

Class 7. JOKER PAIRS JUMPING

Fences not to exceed 75cm in 1st half of course Fences not to exceed 85cm in 2nd half of course

Rider & horse/pony combinations may only compete in one Pairs class

Optional “Joker” Fence SEE PAIRS RULES BELOW

 

Class 8 will not start before 3pm

Class 8. Mistletoe Stakes Fences 90cm Single Phase. Open to all. To include Dengie Winter League Q

Class 9. Christmas Wrap Up Stakes Fences 1m Single Phase.

All Classes run under BS Club Rules. All Classes Single Phase

Horse & rider combinations that enter Class 1 may not enter Classes 5,6,7, & 9

 

Entries on the day Entry Fee £10 in all classes.

£2.50p per rider 1st Aid provided by “Strike Force”

Prizes given by sponsors will be presented on the overall result of the class

British Show Jumping “Ticket to Ride” awarded 1st place in both sections as follows

5 to 10 entries 1st Prize £15

11 to 15 2nd Prize £10

16 to 20 3rd Prize £5

Rosettes awarded to both sections in each class 1st to 6th regardless of entry numbers

PAIRS SHOW JUMPING RULES

The pairs competition will be judged on the fastest time with 5 seconds added for each knock down.

The 1st combination to jump must hand over the whip to the 2nd combination having jumped the 1st part of the course. The 2nd combination then jumps the 2nd part of the course.

The Time is started when the 1st combination passes through the start and stopped when the 2nd combination passes through the finish.

If either combination is Eliminated (3 refusals) the other combination may take the whip and complete the course from the point of Elimination.

The whip must be carried by both riders & if dropped must be picked up by the rider

Having completed the course ONE of the pair may have ONE attempt at the JOKER fence(not timed) if jumped clear 20 seconds will be subtracted from the time BUT if refused or knocked down 20 seconds will be added.

The winning combination is the pair with the fastest time.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE INDIVIDUAL PONY CLUB MEMBER TO BE AWARE OF THE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA



In all Pony Club Show Jumping, excessive use of the whip including repeated slapping down the shoulder is prohibited. The rules state that the whip may be used a maximum of three times during any round including slapping down the shoulder. Use of the whip will be monitored, especially at the Championships, and excessive use may result in elimination at the discretion of the Judges.

Every eventuality cannot be provided for in these rules. In any unforeseen or exceptional circumstances it is the duty of the relevant Officials to make a decision in a sporting spirit and to approach as nearly as possible the intention of these Rules. Except where varied below all classes will be judged in accordance with The Pony Club Show Jumping Rule Book 2017.

RULES WHICH DIFFER FROM THOSE OF 2016 / 2017, OR NEED SPECIAL EMPHASIS, APPEAR IN BOLD TYPE. NEW RULES ARE SIDELINED.

PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

Are held throughout the country from: 1 st May 2017 - 28th February 2018

Qualification at Preliminary Rounds will work on a ratio basis as below.

All Qualifiers will go forward to one of the 19 Area Competitions in March. Provided that they have jumped a clear round in the first round or first phase if run under single or two phase.

MEMBERS AND NON MEMBERS MAY COMPETE AT PRELIMINARY ROUNDS IN ANY AREA.

MEMBERS MUST CO TO THEIR OWN AREA COMPETITION OR WILL NOT QUALIFY AND NON MEMBERS MUST BECOME FULLY PAID UP MEMBERS TO COMPETE AT THEIR AREA COMPETITION.

DEBUT ELIGIBILITY

Open to individual Pony Club Members, but excluding any combination of horse/pony and rider that have represented their Branch/Centre at INTERMEDIATE or above at Summer Area qualifiers for The Pony Club Show Jumping Championships or any Rider who has competed at the Dengie Open Crand Prix Championships or The Pony Club Show Jumping Final at Hickstead. Combination of horse and rider are not eligible if they have ever been placed 1 St-6th AS AN INDIVIDUAL in the NOVICE Pony Club Show Jumping Championships.

(This does not include any other classes held in conjunction with Area

Qualifiers)

Riders cannot compete in the Open Crand Prix Area competition if they have ridden in the Area Debut Competition.

WINTER LEAGUE ELIGIBILITY

Open to individual Pony Club Members, but excluding any combination of horse/pony and rider that have represented their Branch at OPEN Summer Area qualifiers for The Pony Club Show Jumping Championships or any Rider who has competed at The Pony Club Open Summer Show Jumping Championships or The Pony Club Show Jumping Final at Hickstead.

(This does not include any other classes held in conjunction with Area Qualifiers).

HORSE ELIGIBILITY

JA Ponies and Crade A and B Horses registered with British Show Jumping or SJI in the current year or previous year of the competition are not eligible for Debut or Winter League. Should a Pony or Horse upgrade during any part of the 2017/2018 series they will not be able to compete further in the Series.

Ponies and Horses registered with S3AI are graded in accordance with points as reported by S3AI by converting S3AI points to BS points.

(Horses 1 S3Al point = 9 BS points, Ponies 1 SZAI point = 2.5 BS points)
